Each phone line connection to the telephone system needs to be defined for costing and reporting purposes.
To open Comm Suite 'Setup' you click the 'Comm Suite Setup' link on Oak 'Quick Launch' (located in the'Tooltray'). |
The default login is 'Supervisor' with the password 'red'. |
To open the ‘Telephone Lines’, click the ‘Telephone Lines’ hyperlink in the ‘Standard Setting’ pane on the left of the window. |
With an empty table, the only option available is ‘Add Group’ (the only active button). The user can either right-click the mouse and select 'Add Group' or click the 'Add Group' button on the toolbar, which opens... |
... a ‘Group Details’ box where the name of the company is entered. Enter the name in the text box and click the ‘OK’ button to close the ‘Details’ box. The new group will now appear under the ‘All Lines’ icon.
A ‘+’ button has now appeared alongside ‘All Lines’, indicating a ‘branch’ on the ‘Tree’. |
Now that the table contains an entry, highlight the 'Group'entry in the table and all four toolbar buttons will become active.
To add a ‘Line’ to the table, select the group which the new 'Line' will come under and either right-click the mouse and select 'Add Line' or click the 'Add Item' button on the toolbar, which opens... |
... the ‘Line Details’ window. This contains three ‘tabbed’ sections (highlighted in the screen-shot).
- Carrier
- Optimisation
- Duration
- The ‘Site’ to which the line is connected should be selected from the list of sites. If more than one site exists, you select it by clicking the down arrow on the right of the text-box and selecting from the list in the drop-menu.
- The 'Line Number' as defined within the 'Telephone System'. The switch maintainer should be able to provide a list of line numbers and what 'PSTN' or 'PW Connections' have been made to them. This is not always easily available and may require the use of default carrier costings until some sample reports are run, which list line numbers and their use.
|
Automatic Line Creation - it is often the case that several lines provide exactly the same services, so rather than entering each one separately, the first line can be entered and then replicated for a sequence of line numbers:- Increment - normally the line numbers are sequential, so the increment would be ‘1’.
- Until Line Number - this is used in conjunction with the ‘Increment’ field above to set the final ‘Line’ number in the ‘Range’ of ‘Line’ numbers being set.
Note: Please complete all the configuration settings for the'Lines' before clicking 'OK' to automatically create a range of 'Lines' |
