This facility is accessed from the main report X application, not from Comms Suite Setup. You need to configure the emails settings for things like automatically sending reports via email, or for toll fraud alarm notifications.
To open the 'Database Configuration' window from within report X, select 'Configure Settings' from the 'File' menu... |
This opens the 'Email' settings window. |
Note: cc:Mail (Lotus) is not 'MAPI compliant' unless third party add-on software is present. If your 'Mail Client' is 'MAPI compliant', the 'Direct SMTP Send' section should be left blank. |
Where the mail system requires sender 'authentication' for SMTP, a 'User-id' and 'User-Password' should be entered into the appropriate fields. If you are in any doubt, you should consult with the Network Administrator. The 'Authentication' field would normally be set to 'None'. |
If the mail server requires 'SMTP Authentication' then the 'Default' setting should be used. If you are in any doubt, you should consult with the Network Administrator. |
... to open a dialogue window where you can enter a valid e-mail address to which the test message will be sent. When the 'OK' button is clicked the test message is sent. |
If all the settings have been successfully configured the recipient will receive a 'Success' notification. If you are presented with a failure message, this indicates that the settings are wrong. If you are in any doubt, you should consult with the Network Administrator. |
If you are using 'Direct SMTP Send' there will be no record of any emailed 'Reports' being sent, and therefore Oak have provided a 'BCC' (Blind Carbon Copy) facility, which sends a copy of the email to the'Reply to address' (i.e. the sender). When all the 'Email Configuration' settings are complete, click the 'OK' button to close the window. Clicking 'OK' in the main 'Database Configuration' will save all the 'Configuration' settings made and close the window. |
Advanced Scheduling
